Having the ability to add comments to a chart is a great way for you to point out key items you wish to remember. In this tutorial you will find the steps on how to add comments onto a chart directly using the ChartNotes Annotation tools or how to add comments about a chart using the 10 per page view or edit page.
10 Per Page View
One way to add comments about a chart is to use the 10 per page view. When viewing charts using this view you will notice a text box located below the chart that says "click here to add comments". Please click in the box and add your comments regarding the chart. When done hit "Save".
Edit Page
A second easy way to add comments to a chart is to use the "edit" page. When viewing your ChartList on the "edit" screen and you want to add a comment about a chart click "edit info" in the ChartList Contents box.
A pop-up window will appear and in the "Comments" section you can type your comments about the chart and hit OK. The comments you add will appear on the "edit" page in the "Comments" section in the ChartList Contents box.
ChartNotes Callout Tool
The Callout Tool provided in ChartNotes is another option for you to add comments directly onto the SharpChart. The Callout Tool is a great way to annotate specific movements or trends. To use this feature open up your SharpChart in the ChartNotes Annotation window by clicking "annotate flash" which appears below the SharpChart.
Once your chart appears in the annotation window click the "Callout" icon on the top toolbar, move to the location within the chart near where you want to insert the callout, and type your text into the box that appears.
Once you have added your comments you can easily add pointers to the box to point to what you are referring to in your comment. To add the pointers please Press/hold down the CTRL key or Command key if using a Mac, click in the center of the box and drag from one of the four corners using the mouse to the location at which the callout pointer should end.
Text Tool
If you want to add free form text about a chart you can use the "Text Edit" tool. Click on the "Text Edit" icon and then create the text box where you want it on the chart. Please enter in your comments and when finished hit CTRL-Enter or click outside the text box.
*Remember you can change the color or font size using the vertical toolbar on the left side of the annotation window.
To learn more about how to use the Callout Tool or Text Edit tool please refer to our ChartNotes help documentation.

Public ChartLists are collections of charts that a StockCharts.com member chooses to share publicly on StockCharts.com. Periodically, all lists are ranked according to several different popularity factors including unique visitors, votes from members, "followers" and other factors. StockCharts subscribers can vote for up to 3 different lists that you enjoy each day once per day. Votes "expire" over time so you want to continue voting every day for your favorites. Only logged in StockCharts members can "Follow" a list and/or "Vote" for it.
How to get to the Public ChartLists
On the Members page, click on the "Public ChartLists" link under "Links." It is located on the right side of the page. The page is also accessible by clicking on this link.
Verify How Many Votes You Have & Select A List To Vote For
1. Check how many votes you have. If you have not yet voted for the day, then it will say "Today's Remaining Votes: 3"
2. Click on the link name in blue.
Vote For Your List
Click on the gold "Vote" button.
Confirm Your Vote
A small window will popup. Click on the "OK" button to confirm your vote.

The Percentage Price Oscillator (PPO) is a momentum oscillator that measures the difference between two moving averages as a percentage of the larger moving average. The PPO-Histogram can be used to anticipate signal line crossovers in the PPO. You can add a solid line at the Zero level to more easily identify crossovers. This entry shows how to add a solid line to the histogram.
Add PPO Indicator To The Chart
Click on the "Indicators" dropdown and select "Pct Price Oscillator (PPO)"
Add A Horizonal Line Overlay
Click on the dropdown for "Overlay" in the indicator "Advanced Options" section. If the "Advanced Options" is not expanded, click on the green arrow first. Then, select the "Horizontal Line" option, enter the number "0" in the "Parameters" box and click "Update."
The Result
The PPO now has a solid line at the Zero. Information about the PPO indicator, calculation and interpretation is available in this article.
